Our Business

We are traditional sign writers, making hand finished lettering and murals which stand out. Hand painted signs don’t just look good, they’re hard wearing and work well on almost any surface, inside or out.

We’re also sign makers and our range of handmade signs make sure your message gets across - Projecting signs help you get noticed on the street, A-boards catch passing pedestrians attention and illuminated signs get you noticed at night.

We also help businesses with their branding and offer other design services and signage structure solutions as required.

About Charlie

Charlie set up Fundi Signs in June 2020 to make beautiful signs and develop his craftsmanship.

He found signwriting by accident when he needed some signs for his previous business and decided to give it a go.

Soon enough other businesses were asking if he could make theirs too!

One thing led to another and when he sold his business in 2020, it was his chance to give signwriting a go full time.

Why Fundi?

In one of his previous lives, Charlie worked as a chef at an eco lodge in Mozambique.

Out there things went wrong a lot, and when they did you'd need to call the Fundi.

Fundi is a Swahili word which roughly translated means technician or master craftsman.

The word really stuck with Charlie and when he became a sign writer there was only one name for the business.

Fundi Signs is all about the craft of signwriting, and the pursuit of mastery.
